Musical Services
Laura would be delighted to be your pianist, performer, or teacher. At present she offers the following services:
Accompanist
Accompanying vocalists, instrumentalists, choirs, and congregations is Laura's specialty. She especially enjoys designing
customized arrangements to highlight singers' voices. Rates vary.
Ambient Musician
Improvised background piano music can help set a soothing, inspirational, upbeat, and/or nostalgic mood for your reception, dinner party, or other event. With great sensitivity to the energy of the event and the people attending, Laura provides a wide range of repertoire including musical theatre, love songs, light jazz, classical, hymns, and contemporary selections. (Recently tuned piano must be provided.) $120/hour.
Concert Artist
Laura's musical gifts, artistic expression, and rapport with a wide variety of audiences combine to form concerts that are both professional and personal. Music may include hymns, jazz standards, classical repertoire, love songs, contemporary pieces, vocal selections (she sings too!), patriotic tunes, and a spontaneous medley of audience requests. Laura is best known for presenting church concerts, but she also performs for colleges and community groups. Available May, June, July, and December 15-January 15. $500-$1500 plus travel.
Music Coach
Flexible to the needs and goals of the client, music coaching blends elements of music teaching and counseling to help clients explore, hone, manage, and share their creativity. Sessions with Laura might include performance suggestions, songwriting feedback, organizational systems, business tools, artistic challenges, and lifestyle design, as well as spiritual and psychological exploration. $60 per hour or $45 per 45-minute session with a semester-long commitment.
Piano Teacher
Laura has taught piano since 1994 and welcomes students of all levels of experience from age 5 to 95! Lessons are customized according to each student's goals and personality and might include music theory, sightreading, ear training, arranging, and improvisation. 
Laura usually starts beginners with lesson books from the Bastien series, supplemented with whatever songs or styles are of interest. For more information, please read her piano teaching letter. $30 per weekly half-hour lesson with a semester-long commitment. Laura currently has openings for three new piano students in Fall 2010.
(Recording) Session Player
Though fluent in a variety of musical styles, Laura's specialties are accompanying vocalists and sightreading piano accompaniments to choral anthems. Starting at $100/hour.
Wedding Pianist
Since 1995, Laura has provided piano music for numerous weddings and enjoys being a part of these special occasions. Whether you prefer traditional or contemporary, have specific musical selections in mind or just need someone to choose something beautiful, Laura is happy to help. Starting at $200.
